end of it all chap 9

Dessan carried Marco around with him he thought to himself how long had the numbers been here before he got here were they watching him or were they leading him to something darker he didn't know he only followed the helmets direction

"We've been here since the creation of the numbers" the helmet said almost seemed as though he read Dessan's mind "we were sent here to protect the Krutskis most precious projects"

"What was that?"

"It IS the ultimate chimera it began at the same time as the regenerators there best work is Venderson lectern you know of him already you also encountered them in the city and in the jail"

He paused for a moment "even the roots and plant life that seemed to form from everywhere up above that was the gravemind he's a chimera too"

"Do you know anything about the Luminaties?"

"How do you know of them they were before your time?"

"Sypher was here before me remember he told me things about this place and his battle with the Luminatie"

"Turn left here" he instructed "it's true this is the place of origin for them

They had been walking for some time now since Dessan last looked at his watch and he was beginning to wonder if he could trust what the helmet said…

"Where are you taking me?" he asked

"I'm taking you to the secondary computer because we need to see a map" macro responded

"Let me guess you don't know where you're going?" Dessan said sarcastically

"No I know all too well where I'm going this is for you"


"For me?" Dessan questioned why he would need a map

"You do wanna know where your brother is correct?"

"Oh that's right you know about my brother…"

The helmet lead him to a steel door labeled obviously control room the doors opened as he stepped up to them

"Luminatie would routinely come here to check on their projects" Marco explained "it was here that they monitored the chimeras. But they have remained dormant for quite some time now"

Dessan walked into the dark room as he did small lights on the metal floor lit up revealing the path as he walked further in the more the lights lit the more he could see he was in a large circular room up ahead was a large monitor that glowed black as though it was asleep.
Dessan walked up to the computer and set down the helmet on a near by table. He played around with the organ looking  controls. the screen came to life as he gave it directions a meatier came up on the side of the screen it was a loading Dessan watched it completely load and a hologram appear before him it was sin though not what sin normally looked like. his artier was completely off but it was sin

"SIN!?" Dessan said surprised

"Hey buddy" the hologram said back "I'm sure if you're looking at this that means that your battle with should edge is over and now you've moved on to something else?"

"Ya somewhat" Dessan shook his head "why am I talking to this thing" Dessan asked himself

"I did some research on the chimeras while I was in this world" sin continued

Dessan shut off the hologram "it was a nice try whoever it was I'm impressed they predicted that I would come here

"Did you know him?" number 20 asked

"yes had that been who it really was I would have been one of my closest friends the reason I know it's not him is because there were too many things wrong with the body I did a lot of damage to his body and so I know what it looks like "

"Why do you think they sent you the message?"

"I'm not sure" he slowly looked at the helmet its red eyes looked back at him "but I know who does know"

"Why are you looking at me?" Marco shuttered

"Because like you said you had been here since the found into of the numbers which means you were here before I got to this world so only you would know"

"That's not true" number 20 argued back

"Don't shit with me. Who was it!" Dessan shouted back "YOU KNOW WHO IT WAS NOW TELL ME! WHO'S PULLING THE STRINGS HERE!" she shook the helmet

"You're a very persistent cat you know that" a eerie familiar voice said from the door way

Dessan formed his sword and looked down at it, it wasn't reacting like it would have normally "I know that voice I thought I killed you?" he said

"Did I not tell you…this would last for as long as you live" the voice said back

"Just tell me how. How did you survive if that really is you SOUL EDGE!" Dessan spun around to face him

It was him soul edge was alive and well standing in the doorway his appearance was ragged though like time had not been kind to him. His red hair was no longer back it was now down to his shoulder longer than before and his torn and tattered clothes covered his body

"Realities a bitch or is it bu-re" soul edge said walking towards him

"Grate this means Jan lied to me again" Dessan said to number 20

"She didn't lie to you I did this without her knowing"

"How do you keep coming back?" Dessan asked walking towards him they met in the middle of the walk way leading to the computer "you're like a little fly now!" he passed right through soul edge.
Dessan spun around surprised he thought that soul edge was real but how? Was this just a hologram he looked and sounded real enough?

"Where the real you?" Dessan asked vanishing his sword

Soul edged turned to him and smiled "you killed me remember?"

"Yes but that doesn't explain how you're here" Dessan said walking back to the computer passing right through soul edge

"I transferred a part of my conchesnise into the computer system running though the complex here I've seen everything here I know where everything is I know what secrets are hidden here" he smiled knowing this would trigger something in Dessan

Dessan stopped in his spot and turned to him "then tell me! Tell me where Dara is!" he shouted

"Don't worried he's safe"

"I have no reason to trust you"

"But you have every reason not to trust me"

"What happened to him?" Dessan shouted

Soul edge sensed the concern in his voice even though he yelled "this isn't the Dessan I know the one I knew was a vary vengeful one, one who would think twice but to rush into battle and kill the ones in his way"

"Then you did know me that well" Dessan responded quietly reflecting on things back in his like

"There's a dark side to you Dessan I was glad to have awakened it in the short time that you were my host"

"I don't thank you for anything"

Dessan began walking out of the room "wouldn't like to know who has been pulling strings around here?" soul edge asked

"Oh what now you decide to help me after insulting me?" Dessan said still walking "id likes to know where my brother is"

"He's safe for now, besides I have nothing better to do this is after all it's the last time I'll see you"

Dara followed number 23 though the halls sticking a ways back so he wouldn't interfere he wasn't quite sure what to think of this number it was obvious that he wasn't going to kill him though

"Um" Dara finally spoke up "do you think you could stop going after Dessan?"

"It is only the lords will"

"Oh great another catholic enthusiast like Venderson" Dara thought to him self

"he is a lonely man" number 23 continued "that is for certain but there is a darkness to him the first time I saw him I sensed it there's something more to him I do not follow every law that my lord gives me even though he instructed me to take care of Dessan he said nothing about examining him first"

"Examine? You're a scientist!?"

"No I simply want to watch him that's all"

"Tell me what is your power? You seem to be able to make things explode with only a touch"

"It's a thing I received when I became a chimera for the Krutskis had I known then what I know now I would never have traded my life for such a unblessed thing"

"you know my brothers not all that bad" Dara said attempting to change number 23s mind "he may have a darkness to him but he's  been through much worse than that you number must have know what he went through only a few years ago and now he's trying to destroy the vary source of why I am who I am now I too am a chimera but that is only thanks to the Krutskis when Dessan found me he secretly vowed to take down this corporation an when they cut his training short because I was kidnapped again he nearly snapped and destroyed them"

Number 23 looked back at him "you two don't know how dreadful the Krutskis truly are"

"BUT I DO!" Dara shouted "they are the ones that did this to me"

"But you don't see your powers as a curse you see them as a gift don't you?" the crimson said quietly almost sorrowful

"I choose to use my powers to help and save those I care about" Dara said back confident in his answer

"I never was able to grasp that concept it's because of what I was made to do with my powers and now I too am hunted for it"

Dara had caught up with number 23 he place a hand on his shoulder and they both stopped "I know that what the chimeras may have once been human but if they went all like the numbers we would have to do what we do"

"My my isn't that a splendid conversation" a female voice called out to them from the door way at the end of the hall

It was NV she had somehow snuck in opened the door and was now standing there all without the tow of them even noticing her. Demi walking into the door way and stood next to her his hands in his pockets

"Aren't we getting a lot of interruptions here today" he said looking at number 23 "I wasn't expecting you to be here

"Who are you?" Dara asked

"Do I know you?" number 23 asked with disgust, NV smiled back at him "why do you where that face" her smile turned into a frown

"What are you talking about?" She asked

"Dessans still makin no progress to our current position I don't now why" Demi said to her

Dessan followed soul edge into a holding area there were cells lining the walls they all held. The chimeras screamed out as he passed he noticed that some of the cells had been opened

"I hope that they don't come after me" Dessan said looking into the cells as he went by

Most of the chimeras that remained in the cells were animal dominant there was little human about them there twisted body defied the laws of nature is made Dessan shiver when he looked at some of them

"Beyond this room is the testing chamber" soul edge said "but who were looking for isn't there" he stopped in front of a cell

Dessan walked up beside soul edge and looked in he couldn't see anything in there it was complete darkness. From his right he heard the growling of chimeras he looked to see three sets of glowing red eyes in the darkness

"I just said I hope they don't come after me" he said to himself forming his sword in his hand soul edge looked down at the sword finally getting a good look at it

"They have become one?"

"This is what happened after I defeated you"

The tree chimeras charged Dessan this caught him completely off guard as he never saw them coming, but before they lunged at him a load roar came from the cell next to him almost making him go deaf in the ear. The chimeras stopped and whined slowly retreating, Dessan looked back into the cell a form stepped forward it towered over him nearly 2 feet taller than him he could tell the make of the body it was a chimera

"The one who made all these chimeras in the first place" soul edge chuckled

"This thing created the chimeras?" Dessan asked

"not all of them" the thing said coming into the light Dessan was shocked to see who it was "its been a long time hasn't it Dessan?" it was Hawkeye  standing in front of him but the silhouette he saw in the shadow did not match Hawkeyes body. It was the same as when he last saw him

Dessan instantly became enraged he droped the helmet sliced open the cell bars in one cut and grabbed Hawkeye by the throat

"WHY!" he held his sword back ready to drive it through him, soul edge looked on with a smile "WHY ARE YOU HERE!" Dessan shouted tightening his grip on the fur throat

"Dose it surprise you that this is who it was?" Marco asked

"THAT'S NOT THAT IM TALKING ABOUT!" he raised his sword more "Osaka she died because of you SO WHY ARE YOU STILL ALIVE!?"

"For Osaka's sake" Hawkeye said

Dessan lessened his grip not sure what to say from Hawkeyes words "what?"

"I understand how you feel now" he said with Dessan letting go of his throat "please could you follow me" he asked

Dessan grabbed the helmet and followed him he looked back at soul edge who was playing with one of the chimeras from the other side of the bars "I'm leaving him here" he said to himself and then continued with Hawkeye
They entered the next room and it was just as soul edge had explained it was a test room there were vials every ware bottles containing body parts it was a lab for creating and testing mixed DNA  curtains were draped around the room covering something but what Dessan had no clue

"Jan lied to me about killing you" Dessan sighed "so you could make chimeras here"

"not only chimeras" Hawkeye said "there are many other projects here those I cannot let the human eye see you see the big project I have been working on is how to give the human side of a chimera the power without the sacrifice"

"You became a chimera but receive no powers" Dessan said deducing that from what Hawkeye just said "you look as human as a normal person. You must have failed some ware"

Hawkeye smiled at him Dessan looked at him even though he said nothing something caught his attention behind him was one of the draping he turned around and looked at it for a moment

"Don't look" Hawkeye said "she's vary shy"

Dessan walked over and tore the drapes down revealing what was behind it. It was a tank filled with a liquid and floating in that liquid was several versions of Hawkeyes daughter Osaka bodies all in different stages of life

"Osaka…." Dessan stared at the tank

"It still can't retain its form when it touches air" Hawkeye said


"You never learned anything" Dessan spun around and faced Hawkeye "you created your own daughter! In order to experiment more on her"

"No not at all that's not why I did this under supervision it was a new project to revive those who had died do you understand?"

"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND A THING!" Dessan screamed

"I failed many times and so Hawkeye said scratching his head "but… almost… I'm almost there"

"Almost there?" Dessan was almost ready to snap again

Hawkeye moved to a new door and pushed it open Dessan looked inside saw what was in there and ran in.
Inside were several small contained containing small animals while in the center of the room were two capsule like machines connected to each of the pods holding the animals

"This is the room that the chimeras are made in" Hawkeye said

"This is how you made the first chimera?" Dessan asked

"No this is how they were made much like the vampires of the Luminatie or the first chimeras. They were all made here I have been tweaking it to my liking so I could create my own chimeras along with making Osaka again"

"You're just playing god just like every other person at that company"
